. MINIGAME ARCHIVE . Currently - Week 2. Week 1 .1. To start off the Year of the Tiger, show us an image of a cat, big or small! But it
must be by you, whether photographed or drawn.
2. Write an upside-down "
fu" for prosperity (traditionally or digitally) and show us! (Which is to say
write the Chinese character the right way up and turn it upside down, to dump that prosperity right in ya homes.)
3. On the eve of Lunar New Year, everyone gets together for a sumptuous reunion feast! Tell us what is your reunion dinner menu: made of your favourite Chinese main, side dish, and dessert/snack. >D
4. The superstition goes that whatever you do on the first day of Lunar New Year is what you'll end up doing every day of the year. What
did you do on 1st February this year...?
5. As is tradition, welcome the new year by composing an auspicious couplet...about cats, big or small! (Learn more about antithetical couplets
here - but you don't have to go so deep! All we ask is that it's auspicious, and that the two lines have the same number of syllables.)
. Week 2 .
6. Check out your
Chinese zodiac sign and make up a horoscope for yourself this year!
7. For Lunar New Year, the Chinese bring a pair of Mandarin oranges when visiting family and friends to symbolise good fortune. Draw two
Mandarin oranges. (They're squashier!)
8. For the Chinese, it's not the lion, but the tiger, who is king of beasts, as denoted by the king character "wang" (王) on its forehead. If your cat was king for a day, what would be their royal decree? (If you don't have a cat, imagine yourself as one instead.)
9. Are you like...nya? Make your Phony or yourself as a cat in
this picrew and post the final image!
10. Write a loathesomely catchy cat jingle (2 lines mininum) to promote whatever (non/fictional) cat-themed product you'd like!
. Week 3 .
11. Make a
simple Chinese lantern (or a somewhat
more decorated variant) and post a photo of your handiwork!
12. It's time to make a taiku...or a haikat? Anyway, write a haiku about a tiger or cat!
13. Lunar New Year is all about superstitions based on terrible puns. It sucks. Create a superstition, whether good or bad, from a terrible cat pun.
14.
Generate a random cat description and
colour it! (Please feel free to super-simplify the markings!)
15. The Japanese
maneki-neko, also known as the lucky cat, beckons different types of fortune depending on their type/colour (e.g. gold for wealth, pink for love) . If you were a maneki-neko, what colour would you be, and what would you be beckoning?
