It wasn't that Rough Shards was late late. He'd been pacing back and forth just outside the venue thinking and rethinking whether or not he would actually go inside and participate. He was nervous, obviously, about so many things like making a fool of himself, or upsetting someone by accident by saying the wrong thing to them. He wasn't exactly Mr. Popularity after all. But when all's said and done, he was here and at Sea Whip's encouragement (that is, her playful threats of locking him out for the night if he chickened out) he braved strangers in hopes of making a friend or two.

Ah, it seemed he still had time to join. Taking a card, he began to write.
