Paladin clutched his school bag securely to his side, taunt across his shoulder and hidden from the droplets of rain repelling off puddles and metal. He had found sanctuary under the exposed roof of a local shop, eyes drawn to the heavens above with a dull and lifeless expression. Rain. His mother had told him to pack an umbrella and he, lost in thought about the days test, had forgotten it entirely. He had his bag, but truthfully he rather wait just a bit longer to see if the rain let up.

Honestly, it seemed unlikely.

Still, he was patient as he was persistent, and perhaps just as much interested in being dry. He really should have listened to Blind Love, honestly, but -- well, school was tough. Those vocabulary words weren't going to memorize themselves.

"Stupid errands in stupid town during stupid townie raining." Phantasmagoria was miffed all to hell and back. Usually the Circus was a self contained world away from the normies and their lives. But occasionally, such as now, they had to regrettably go into town to pick up stuff they just couldn't get any other way.

Saddle bags stuffed to the brim so she (and anyone else) wouldn't have to come back here anytime soon, she was sufficiently weighed down enough that she couldn't make a run or fly for it. She was going to get soaked getting back to the edge of town and back under the tents of home.

She was making several dashes between shop and building overhangs to try to get through the downpour with as little soaking as possible. It wasn't a fool proof plan, but it was KINDA working. She dashed under a overhang another babben was standing under, a bit damp, scowling a little.

"Stupid rain."

He saw the flash of faint color in the corner of his eye, head tilting to pull the newcomer in frame. He hadn't seen them bother, or someone like her, although he made sure not to stare. A spider-like mare and now a bat one? What an eventual last few days it had been for him.

'Stupid rain,' she spat. Paladin flicked his gaze back to the sky, a hoof raising to test, peeking past his flimsy shelter. Ugh -- it didn't feel like it'd let up anytime soon.

"Are you in a hurry?" He questioned towards the babben beside him, keeping his expression on the clouds above.
