On a wooden table, a medium sized rock sat broken. Split into four, each speckled gray piece rolled to reveal the jagged edges where the break released it. A golden hoof gently poked one of the pieces, making it wobble sadly. An equally sad foal sighed, letting the shard wobble to a stop on its own. The colt crossed his hooves, laying his head on top of them, eyes level with his shattered prized possession.

Wabi Sabi knew in his heart that nothing in the world was permanent. Just like seasons, everything ebbed and flowed, sometimes faster or slower than other things. He had figured that his rocks would last longer...

But he didn't account for the pull of gravity on his collection. The rock was a lovely egg shape originally, and it had rolled from the table, hitting the hard ground and breaking.

"What do I do with you now?" Wabi asked the rock in a morose tone. He did like imperfect things, but this one was now..too imperfect. No, it wasn't just imperfect, it was ruined.

"With who?" comes the answer, perplexed.

Kintsugi peeks around to where she hears the voice, ears forward, curiosity in her eyes.  Spotting the soft yellow babben, she carefully moves over to him, inspecting him for some sort of pet or bug friend or something to indicate who he's talking to.  Not seeing anyone, she takes a careful seat at the table next to him, tilting her head to the side.  "What's wrong?  Who -- "

And then she saw it, the crime: the broken rock, resplendent even in its broken pieces.  Drawing in a short breath, she offers a soft, ""Oooooh," in sympathy.  "What happened?"
