Secret had not seen anything like it before. The photographs in varied magazines that littered his table only offered a glimpse of the wonderland before him. Color and greenery blended together in such a magnificent array that he felt a stirring in his heart, and pressure built behind his eye. He registered Witch Hazel's words distantly and only nodded dumbly, raising one hoof to his eye to wipe the emotion from it.

"It's amazing..." he said in a thick voice, before his cheeks burned red and he cleared his throat. "Nothing like the pictures." He swallowed, and then finally turned his attention to Witch Hazel, offering a shaky smile as his garden shears came back into sight with a shrug. "Are you here for um.. this, too?" He felt a little self-conscious after his moment of vulnerability, as often was the case, and tucked the shears away. "I'm Secret Garden." He offered the hoof for a shake to the phony who was likely there for the same reason he was, and staring in wonder at the garden was only a small part of that task. Soon it would be time for the more discerning eye to come out and look for what to take home.

Unbeknownst to Witch Hazel, Old Mr. Tumble's home was the apple of another phony's eye, as well.

Secret Garden had a pack of cultivars slung over his back, a pair of shears at the ready, as he finished his tour of the neighborhood. His garden was modest but growing, thanks to the cuttings he had obtained from the park, and he was excited to see what Mr. Tumble had hidden away in his treasure trove of plants. With a careful glance at the window, he noticed the intermittent glow of the television screen and knew the time was right. The garden was bound to have something that would make for a wonderful centerpiece in his own yard. Was there any way into the yard?

His eyes zoned in on a loose board on the fence. Bingo.

He wedged himself through with only a little trouble, fishing his shears out, and nearly collided with something in front of him.

"Ah!" Secret startled at the sight of another phony, hooves flying to hide the shears. Were they a relative? Was he in trouble? "H-hello." The low timbre of his voice hid the shakiness well; he was glad. But immediately his gaze drifted from the phony before him to the flora wonderland beyond, and his jaw went slack. "Wow..." His arms drooped and the shears came back into sight unbidden. Bursts of color were visible everywhere, and for a moment, it felt like he were in a garden much like his namesake, secreted away and full of wonders.

Hair: Bright violet, short and flared out - perhaps with a talisman on the forehead?
Cutie Mark 8D: A pink jumping ghost with its arms out, a crescent moon behind it
Brief Character Description: Always geared towards self-improvement, Hopping Ghost loves a good workout. She is always on the lookout for good sparring or workout partners who have like-minded ideals towards her, especially any male phonies. Her boy craziness does not overpower her beliefs or love of friends and family, however. The perpetual hard worker, she loves studying martial arts and anything to do with unicorn magic. However, once she lets her guard down, one might find Hopping Ghost to be a bit forgetful and clumsy, as well as a little messy - she leaves her training gear everywhere and is constantly tripping over it. She is a respectful girl to her friends and always believes anything can be solved by a good round at the gym.

Brief Character Description: Of stern demeanor and intimidating appearance, Mystery Mist is a bit of a loner. She is known for her very intense stare, but it is not because she is particularly upset or anything, mind you - she just has a bad habit of zoning out while deep in thought. Her eyes are sharp, and she makes good use of them as they peer easily through dimly-lit areas and misty moors. Others don't seem to know how to talk to her, which is both a blessing and a bane to her, as she is clumsy with her words and secretive. She prefers one-on-one company to large groups, although be warned it takes her a long time to warm up to someone else.

Brief Character Description: Heart's Desire is a quietly curious phony, deeply interested in people's emotions as a means to understand herself. She romanticizes happiness and love and deep connections because she yearns for them, yet is not confident enough to pursue them fully without all of her facts in line. She has a habit of second-guessing her own emotions, leading to much confusion for others and frustration on her part, but she is quite earnest and aims to be as helpful as she can to others. She has a deep fondness of children and finds them the best recipient for her curious questions, as they are able to put such things so succinctly.

Brief Character Description: Bouncy and curious and all-too-eager, Space Case loves to make friends! She longs for many friends with deep connections, and sometimes her eagerness to be close can push others away. She cannot stand being alone and pushes herself into public situations, oftentimes before she is fully ready, and hides any of her anxieties with a loud laugh and a grin. She bounces from one question to the next at rapid pace, often not taking in the answer to the first and leaving it far behind, giving others the impression that she might be a little spacy. Fashion, music, and popular culture of yesteryear are favorites of hers, as is gazing at the sky, hoping to catch sight of something interesting.

Appearance: Her body is a pale lavender, and her mane and tail are weighted with curls, paired with the lavender in a shade of pastel pink. Her green eyes are wide and bright, popping against her lighter tones, and her lashes are long.

Personality: This phony's eyes are glowing with dreams of stardom. She spends every day she can practicing her scales and arpeggios and writing lyrics in the hopes that she can take the stage, but it's not the money that she's after. Her biggest dream is to make others happy with her music and share the joy she feels in her heart when she performs, but she is often self-critical of her lyrics and uncertain where her musical strengths lay. As she is also still relatively new to the stage, she suffers from stage fright as well, and that can sometimes botch a performance she has been excited for for weeks. A positive, helpful phony, Soul wants to shine a light of happiness on others and often takes up many causes and will lend a hoof to whomever needs it. She's known to dedicate herself to one too many projects and stresses out over being unable to deliver. Soul is also struggling with how to gracefully apply makeup, seeking out tutorials to help her avoid disaster.

Appearance: Secret is closer to his mother in appearance, bearing her dark navy blue coat. His mane and tail are both cream-colored and gently curled at the ends. However he gets his bright blue eyes from his father, along with the feathering at his legs, where golden hooves peek through.

Personality: Secret Garden is a creative soul with an eye for design and a way with plants. While he tends to operate on his own quite often (especially when it comes to his landscaping work), he enjoys the company of others even if he is not the most extroverted phony. A tough exterior and a desire to be considered strong and reliable belies a gentle, soft heart that is easily moved by the smallest things or thoughts (he has cried over children in school sitting by themselves at lunch). While he enjoys regular stability, he is also not fond of being locked into a mundane, lifeless routine, and when he begins to feel trapped, he will find a way to break the monotony, if only a little.

Secret is fairly even-keeled in his relationship with his parents. However, his emotional side pulls him away from being too similar to his father, whom he looks up to as a paragon of strength and support. He loves his mother deeply, problems with volume control aside.




Secret loves his family more than anything, particularly his brother and sisters. He always feels more comfortable letting his guard down around them and does not feel the same trepidation about crying around them as he would others (perhaps, even, his parents).
