"Anything worth learning has a challenge to it! If it was too easy, it wouldn't be as fun," Sugarplum said. Dancing was a lot of hard work, though maybe not as hard as jousting sounded. It was easy to mess up the steps, or forget your cues, or even make a fool of yourself! One of the first things she learned was how to work through it. "And if you're having fun, you can relax."

She worked with him as he danced, trying to avoid his hooves and support him when he slipped so he didn't hurt himself. "For instance, I'm having a lot of fun with you!"

She knew it had been hard on her family, with so many people getting scarce. She was lucky that she could still talk to her mom and dad, or even her grandmas, if she was having a problem. She knew they'd be at her wedding. "We'll like, make sure it's the most beautiful wedding ever, so no one could possibly be sad during it!"

Mr. Gold followed his daughter, nudging her to remind her to be polite. They were in public, and it wasn't right to badger others in their place of work too much. Sugarplum puffed her cheeks out and looked at the tiaras as Bijou showed them off. She oooh'd and aaah'd at all of them. "My costume is pink and gold," she said. Like the rose gold, with the emerald... it was beautiful! "And I'm playing one of the dancing princesses in the ballet," she added, in case that helped too.

"T-the silver one..." Mr. Gold started, "I-it's very lo-lovely." He was quiet a moment, then realized he was staring. Politely, he cleared his throat. "B-b-but I d-do suppose w-we should discuss... the erm, b-b-budget set..." He wouldn't deny his child the tiara, but some of these lovely pieces of fine craftswork was surely too much for a child, right? The other children and their parents at the ballet babbled on and on about this particular shop, and he couldn't deny the work was exquisite. His carefully discerning eye noted the smoothness of the metal and the delicate filigree. It reminded him a bit of Foundry's armor.

"You joust? she asked excitedly, as he promptly stumbled and crashed into her. She shook her head, stepping back to give him space. "Oops, you must be very good at the jousting," she laughed, rubbing her head. Sugarplum had taken worse tumbles and falls in her dance practices, though a hoof to the head was never pleasant. If you're jousting though, that's the point! "You know, it's okay to not think about it, too much. It's for fun, right? It's okay to laugh at your mistakes and figure you'll do it better next time."

Lavender was thinking of all the possibilities now. It probably would have been a conversation eventually, and it was good to know that they were still on the same page. They'd be incredible mothers. Sugar would be an incredible mother.

"Maybe a bit early, but like, there's no such thing as planning too much for the future! We can be well prepared, whether it happens in the near future, or like, super far in the future. We'll know what we want." Lavender smiled. "And we can talk about everything. Anything you're not sure about. But like, whatever it is: I want it with you. Any changes or growth or decisions, I want you to be a part of it, and I want to do the things that make you happy."

Sugarplum thought he had been making a lot of progress in even just a short time. He went from not even knowing where to start to... at least something. But he still seemed frustrated. Not with her, but... with dancing. Dancing was natural though, it was part of being a living thing!

"It wasn't always easy, I just really liked it, and then my dad encouraged me, because I had fun. It got easier the more I practiced!" Sugarplum smiled, and looked at Paladin's hooves. "You do have two left feet! One left, two left!" She laughed lightly, lifting her front left and back left hooves as she spoke. She hoped it didn't sound like she was making fun of him making jokes like that. "Two right feet as well! So you're perfectly balanced."

A nursery? Like for their plants? Lavender thought she'd already suggested a greenhouse, but then common sense kicked in. A nursery nursery. Like for babies. Their babies. Lav blushed at the thought, a little blindsided, but not in a bad way. It wasn't like they weren't planning on getting married already, and a family ---

The pegasus rested her forehead against Sugar Petal's. "A nursery... You always did have the best ideas, love," she said. This felt dreamy. It was early to think about, maybe, but she wanted everything with Sugar. Her best friend, her future wife, and the mother of her future children too. "Of course, of course. Like... of course! I had no idea, I mean, like, you know I want that too, right?"

Quiet could be good. Lav knew Sugar liked the quiet. She was smart and contemplative like that, though Lavender thought sometimes the house was a bit too quiet, just the two of them and their pets... And she knew that look on her future wife's face well enough. That extra room? She hadn't given it much thought. Something they had meant to get to, but Lavender had kept running with so many ideas and they never got around to it. It hadn't been important. "It could be an office, a greenhouse, or a mad scientist lab or really, like, anything. But you have something in mind, don't you?" The pegasus smiled. They were a team, so she wanted to hear Sugar's input. "What are you thinking of?"
