[Twice-As-Fancy Mer with Non-normative Tail]

Life was getting crowded in the Lagoon for these squishy goldfish mers, with their unusual flowy tails getting in the way, so they've decided to pack up their things, strap on their hover bracelets, and move to Phony City to be small fish in a big pond!

They were originally supposed to turn up in May, but their goldfish brains got them lost along the way and now it's almost June. Good thing their beautiful non-normative tails make up for their last braincell, 'cos you'll forgive them for their tardiness...right? 8D;; It's Goldfish Mermaybe June!

These squishy Merphonies have just arrived in Phony City, starey-eyed and full of...bubbles. Life in the big city is going to be so different from their watery days in the Lagoon - but will it be better, or worse? Tell us all about them and their new homes, and they might even get a new owner - you!

For three weeks in a row, we'll ask you for information about these goldfish Mers and their new lives in the city. Each week's post counts as a raffle ticket, and the three posts collectively count as a contest entry. The contest winner gets their first pick, and the other two Phonies will be raffled off through the remaining tickets (yes, you can rush them all in the last week).

There are THREE rounds in this contest, each put up on a Monday (30 May, 6 June, 13 June 2022).
The overall contest winner gets first pick, while the remaining Phonies will be raffled off with each round's entry as a ticket.
Only someone who enters all three rounds can win the contest, but entry for each round is counted as 1 ticket.
- so even if you only enter one or two select prompts, you're still in the running for the raffle.

Each of the rounds may ask for a different sort of entry, ranging from simple RP to simple design. While skill and effort do play a part in judging,
by far the most important aspect is the creativity and cohesion of concept and character of the Phony. So jump right in...

What's black and white and red all over? Phonyland right now!
Because Phonyland's Christmas Anniversary event is so delayed, it's now Lunar New Year, and we're featuring white tigers and snowy leopards for Christmas in the Year of the Tiger!

(Yeah, we're going through some thingsTM.)

Phonyland is elegantly decorated in wintry tones for "Christmas" while snow is still in season, punctuated with tasteful explosions of red lanterns and crackers and blood and so are the big cat - Phonies!
Our glorious white tiger raffle girl, and snow leopard auction boy, are certainly turning heads on their catwalk, and the little cat-perma and his tiger-themed pet friends are catstepping like they're on a hot tin roof!

The sudden reappearance of a missing Phony has shocked Phonyland to the core!
In the start of the good year 2022, Paper Tiger recently re-emerged into Phony City, begging that the Phony populace help recover a long lost group of Phonies she was once a part of...in the mountains?

Though sympathetic, some dismissed the child's pleas as the ramblings of a young, deluded, traumatised mind. A grim and wise mare, however, listened to her story.
Having lost part of her happy family and with the Missing Phonies department being of no help, she was determined to investigate what could be pieced together from Paper Tiger's confused recollection.

And this is where you come in: join the CYOA and help find these lost Phonies! If you do it well enough, then...perhaps one of them might just go home with you.

♥ These Old Enough Phonies come as-is with set cutiemarks and features - the base artwork will not be changed.

- However, if you are very set on a new name that makes sense with their cutiemark, you may raise it for review after winners are announced.
♥ Besides these, you may change everything else - their personality, background story, memories etc - as Phonyland can helpfully wipe the slate clean and implant different memories should you wish to do so!
- On the other hand, if you want to keep the notion of their history before this event, you can do so as well, but we suggest keeping it vague if you're not familiar with how they used to be played.

Rawr! This is the vivacious White Tiger's year, and she knows it! She's going to lord it over you all New Year - starting with these 15 tasks, one for each day of the Spring festival!

But not, like, one for each day of our event. You get five of them a week but you can do them anytime before the event ends.

She's easily distracted, though, and only one lucky winner will catch her attention long enough to bring her home - but there's still a little tiger...oh.
He's not a tiger, he's just a tabby cat. But he's cute, and so are all his faux-tiger pet friends! Come play, and you may just get lucky-cat!

13. Lunar New Year is all about superstitions based on terrible puns. It sucks. Create a superstition, whether good or bad, from a terrible cat pun.
14. Generate a random cat description and colour it! (Please feel free to super-simplify the markings!)
15. The Japanese maneki-neko, also known as the fortune cat, beckons different types of fortune (e.g. money, love) depending on the type of cat. If you were a maneki-neko, what would you be beckoning?

This Plant Witch's plants are charms of all kinds, and he matches the plant to the owner. He takes a look at you, glances at the cactuses, then nudges over an air plant, because they...are charms for resilience, and you are titanium! c:

Note: Plant Witch will come with a semi-custom familiar based on his witchy theme, with the species chosen by his eventual owner!

Witchtober is here again and - wait, did we say Witchtober? It's a Freudian slip that can only mean that this is the year for...Phonyland's Hallowitchy Halloween!

The park is elegantly festooned with the customary spoopy decorations: pumpkins and ghosties and purple ribbons, etc. - but the real witches of Phonyland could be anywhere.
Zoning out at their corporate day job. Witching in their homes in Phony City. Having a coffee at Starbux. Anyone could be a witch.

But they're often unicorns, because unicorn magic (which is really nanites) is handy, so, this Hallowitch, we're shining the spotlight on a local unicorn coven...

Though the arena is set up and the center light is blazing, there is curiously no commentary table. Before one can lament the lack of overwrought punditry, there is a loud crackle over an ancient-sounding intercom that gives way to a loud, boisterous voice:

"Welcome to the annual - well this annum's - MAXX MADNESS IN THE THUNDERDOME! This humble, hallowed hall holds the hopes and dreams of many Babbies from the harsh realities of Phonyland, giving them a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to realize not only their ambitions, but themselves, as whole, grown, Old Enough Phonies.

This is what's at stake today, folks, as we settle down to watch the romp of our lives from Phonies who, not so long ago, were in rompers. Today we watch colts and fillies become grown-ass stallions and mares. Today, we watch Babbies. Fight.

LET'S RUMBLE!"

How this works:
All rolls will be done by Ph0ny (unless Maxx accidentally leaves it as himself, then it's Maxx. Actually, Maxx just gave up, it's Maxx). You just have to sit and watch and pray your little angel does all right!
1. 1st roll determines whether the higher or lower roll between the two contenders is the winning roll. 1 means higher roll wins, 2 means lower roll wins.
2. 2nd roll of 2 dice, assigned in the order of names shown (i.e. Name 1 vs Name 2), determines who wins.

The location stated on the flyer turns out to be a seedy backalley. Babby contenders, and spectators - whether Phony or human, are blindfolded by a suspicious Phony in a dark fedora and a trenchcoat, then prodded through a series of passages, until they're shoved to a stop. There is a sense of movement. An interminable wait.

Then there is more prodding and passages. When the blindfolds come off, the spectators will see - that the contenders are no longer with them - and the sizeable auditorium that lies before them. It is dark, but a single spotlight shines strong above, right onto the wrestling ring in the middle of the hall.

It is also strong enough for the spectators to pick out the scattering of the promotional posters is plastered on the walls, with one sole red banner fastened high, attempting to look festive, and the foldable chairs surrounding a barrier erected a respectful (safe) distance away from the ring.

One could call the layout cheap, but one could also call it rather efficient, given that not all the ungulates attending might want to sit on their hindquarters with their forelegs dangly - but of course, they are welcome to, and they are also welcome to clear two-legger chairs away and sit/stand around on all fours.

The chairs are steel.

Spectators might also be able to pick out that all entrances appear to be padlocked. You are here for the long run. There is a refreshment stand in the corner, with drinks and snacks at modestTM prices.

It appears most have accepted their fates. Some hold a cheap xerox of the tournament brackets, seeking a pen. Some sit waiting, munching on popcorn. There is a mix of humanoids and Phonies spectators alike, here to spectate the upcoming spectacle.
