Okay, water it was. She couldn't help but laugh a little at the way Shockstar sounded when he spoke, the slurring and the earnest sentiments touching her heart in a very endearing way. She felt special that he had been worried about her of all phonies, but knew very well that there was a chance he wouldn't remember speaking up about it. Still, she was greedy for just a little affection, and she'd take it where she could get it.

Just about ready to get up off the floor herself so she could help the stallion, there was a moment of dizziness, and then a heavy crash into her body, and before she could even let out a noise of surprise, there was Shockstar. Slightly crumpled on top of her. In an accidental kiss. Oh.

Shocked into a stupor, Banana Creme felt like she'd been simultaneously been electrocuted and melted like hot butter, and the resulting feeling made her freeze in place, unsure of what to do. If she were being honest, half of her brain was screaming for her to move, do anything, poor Shockstar was drunk and this was entirely an accident, he had just fallen into her, and he wouldn't have done this on any other normal occasion... And... The other half of her brain, well. Leisurely, it pondered when she was last kissed, and posed the idea of just, oh, you know. Leaning into it. With purpose.

But stuck in the middle where she couldn't decide to move, she had decidedly forgotten how to breathe, and only when they parted slightly, did she remember to draw air into her lungs. Creme's cheeks were absolutely flushed, her eyes wide and wild with not knowing what was coming next. What were you supposed to do when something like this happened? An accident, of all things! An accident. Yes. That's all that this was.

Well. So much for keeping Shockstar from drinking too much. Clearly, he was a lightweight— Banana Creme should have thought about that before pouring him a drink. Maybe he metabolized alcohol really quickly? Whatever it was, she was at least a little more steady on her hooves than he was. He was already seeing doubles.

When Shockstar slurred his question at her, she stopped, looking at him with mild concern. Did he drink just to make her feel better? He was willing to step outside of his comfort zone to try and cheer her up. And that meant a lot to BC. Even as the drunkachu slid to the ground. Immediately following his accidental stride, she slipped down in front of her friend to look him in the eye. Carefully touching her hoof to the side of his rosy cheek, she smiled and nodded before speaking up.

"I'm feeling better now. Thanks, Shockstar." Glancing at Encore, she let out a little laugh at her trill and let her hoof slide down to the phikachu's own. "But maybe we need to get you some water, at least. You look like you're the one who needs taken care of, now."

Butter Beer: -name the piece? Oh, was he even qualified to do such a thing? Wasn't that the artist's personal choice..? Well, if she had asked for his assistance, so... He guessed it was alright.- Um... Something having to do with the ocean... -he was terrible at this. But he put in his honest effort, digging through all the titles it could possibly have. Pink Wave? No... Too literal. Shells Out? Bad pun. The young colt grumbled a little as he thought, kicking his hooves in the sand before he settled on something he thought would actually sound good for what the piece represented. Well, to him, at least.- What about Gift from the Sea..? -he smiled, his small tail flicking behind him as he waited eagerly for Shimmer's thoughts.-
#4
Butter Beer: -watched as Shimmer placed the shell at the crest of the work, a broad smile on his face as she did so. It definitely did look better up there than buried in the sand. The colt was actually rather happy that he could make the merphony's day with the small conch—It had been a lucky find, and even luckier that it got to be used in such a nice piece of art.- I really ought to come out here more often! That way, if I stumble across any pretty shells, I can save them for the next time I see you out here. Would that be okay? If I collected shells for you? -he shuffled his hooves in the sand a little bashfully, a little proud of himself that he had been complimented by such a pretty and talented mare, if only for stopping to help out and add something to her work.-
#5
Butter Beer: -was glad that he had guessed the shape correctly. It would've been ultra embarrassing if he had insulted an abstract piece that had nothing to do with waves... But. He never really understood art in the first place, aside from the value of the master paintings.- I come out to the beach to think, usually. I miss pretty shells most of the time— But oh! I found this one just before I came over to talk to you! -reaches into his side bag to pull out the small conch shell, a wide grin on his face- I never find anything like this, that's for sure. -gaze flicks back to the sculpture, eyeing a fantastic spot at the crest of the wave where the shell could go- Shimmer... -he smiled, carefully offering the pink and cream shell to the artist- Would you like this shell? I think it would be more useful in your hooves than mine.
#6
Butter Beer: Shimmer. I won't forget that. -happily commits the mer's name to his memory, extending his own hoof to shake hers- Oh, I'm, um... Not an artist at all, really. But I do remember where some of the pieces go! I can show you. -begins pointing out where the larger pieces had come from, but he couldn't quite remember the placement of the small shells. Well, she had asked for him to help decide their location, so he supposed he could help, even if he really did lack artistic vision.- Maybe the lighter shells should go at the peak and the end of the curve? It looks like a wave to me... So... I think that might be nice. -carefully gestures to the part of the sculpture he was talking about, hoping Shimmer wouldn't judge him for bad taste, or something.-
#7
Butter Beer: -jumped a little when some of the pieces began to fall from the sculpture, suddenly worried that the merphony would be angry with him for startling them into bumping into the art. When the mare had expressed concern, rather than anger, he relaxed again, making his way to help pick up the shells and small driftwood that had fallen.- I'm okay. Nothing fell on me, but I'm really sorry that I startled you. I really did just want to tell you how nice it looked. -he smiled a little and corrected himself promptly- How nice it still looks. Can I help you put these back in their places? I'd feel really bad if I just left without helping, if I could. Oh-- I'm Butter Beer, by the way.

Butter Beer: -was spending his time off from acting as help around Cloud Nine on the beach, kicking his hooves around in the sand as he walked, his mind preoccupied with the thought of shells being used as currency... If they were beautiful enough. Before there was money, that must've been what they used, right? Shells? Shiny rocks? Washed up crab... husks..? Eh, most likely shells and those beautiful, circular sand dollars. They were called sand dollars for a reason, after all. Right? Continuing to shuffle his way through the sand as he drew nearer to the water, the colt stopped when his hoof came into contact with the lip of a conch shell-- wait, a conch shell?!- Where in the world did this come from..? -carefully digging the shell out, he realized it was a bit smaller than the usual ones he'd seen in the beach-side shops, though he thought that it made the shell all the more precious. Happily placing it into his messenger bag, the young unicorn actually began to survey his whereabouts, on the lookout for more potential treasures he might have been missing while lost in his thoughts, and then a large stone, driftwood, and shell sculpture came into view...- How did I miss that? -There seemed to be somephony working on it-- Oh! A merphony was the artist decorating her sculpture. She seemed rather talented at the particular placements, too. Finding himself wandering over in her direction, he smiled when he approached her finally, unable to keep himself from commenting on the work- That's a pretty impressive thing you've got there! It's really beautiful.

Okay. Maybe she shouldn't have done that. It was forceful, and BC never wanted to be forceful, but here she was, unable to think before making important decisions like, oh, say, feeding your friend from your own hoof. Dammit. But at least he'd said it tasted good...

It seemed as though Shockstar was beginning to feel the weight of the alcohol-- Wait. She hadn't put that much alcohol in it, had she? ...Had she?! Hurriedly taking a drink of her own White Russian, she made a horrible inhaling noise, realizing that she had accidentally pushed the phikachu boy her stronger drink instead of the baby drink she had made for him. ...Best not make a fuss and scare him. She would just watch him carefully and make sure not to let him drink too much. That was simple enough, right? Right.

"You, ah... You doing okay, Shockstar? Do you need a chair?" Banana Creme inquired, half slumping on the table as she took another sip from her baby beverage, pouting a little that it didn't have near as much alcohol in it that she wanted. Not that that was a bad thing right about now. She really didn't need more. Any further, and she'd absolutely make a fool of herself in front of her cute friend. Something about him just made her want to baby him, but also, like... You know. Get another hug. As soon as possible. That had been so nice. What in the hell did she have to do to make that happen again?

And there was the grin. He'd pulled it out of her.

"You like it? It's my favorite, y'know. It tastes like melted ice cream once you get past the initial alcohol burns. The more you drink, 'n all that..." Banana Creme swirled her own drink before taking a healthy gulp, her cheeks lighting up from the sweetness of it all. "Mm, pairs well with... 'Rons." Turning away from the table, she stretched out to the counter she had been working at before the night had even begun, grabbing an undecorated almond macaron. Carefully, she took a small bite out of it, humming with delight.

"It's so good. You really ought to..." Creme blinked at the partially eaten treat in her hoof and turned to offer it to Shockstar-- Not to hand it off to his own hoof, no, but to feed it to him directly. That was what she did with all of her nieces and nephews anyway. It's how she fed her family. There was no reasoning left in her hazy head as to why this probably should be embarrassing, and not a great idea to offer with a friend. She didn't even know how he felt about sharing food. Right now, she didn't even care, insisting that he eat it as she pressed the macaron to his lips. She just wanted to see his delight again. It warmed her right to the core.

"Open up~" she sang slightly. "Promise you'll like the um... uh... combo! Yeah, combo."

"Oh my god, Punkachu..." Creme shook her head and groaned, hurriedly apologizing to Shockstar for her mother's aggressive behavior. "I'm so sorry, she can be really inconsiderate of other people sometimes, but I swear she has a good heart. She means well, even though she doesn't always sound like it."

The mare was rather pleased when Shockstar and his kitten were eager over her handmade goods, her cheeks flushing a little as she watched. It never got old, seeing the joy on someone's face when they ate her confectionaries, and it was doing wonders for curing her misery. Just as soon as she collected her ingredients for the White Russian she was about to make, the stallion was pulling them from her hooves, setting them down, and then--

Banana Creme's breath totally left her.

Shockstar's arms were around her, pulling her close in a hug, apologizing to her for something that was out of his control. For a moment, she froze, and then in the second following, her chest felt like it was swelling with emotion, and she had to fight to keep the tears out of her eyes again. Contact was nice. Very nice. And when Shockstar pulled back, stuttering, she could hardly register his embarrassment over her own desire to do that again.

After a second of trying to process what the stallion was trying to say, she blinked, turning to get two glasses to mix the White Russians into. She made a quick pour of them, silently sliding a glass to Shockstar, looking up at him as she leaned forward over the table to hover over her own drink. "Cheers... To um. To shitty nights and much better after-parties." She gave a small smile, eagerly waiting for her friend to take a sip so she could watch his reaction. Just for his benefit, she put much less vodka into his glass, but it certainly wasn't gone from the drink entirely.

"Bake? Together?" Banana Creme smiled, nodding at the idea. "I would really like to. That sounds like a lot of fun. I've never had anyone else helping me in the kitchen before... I bet we could come up with some new ideas."

The kitchen was her sacred place, that was for sure. It was strange, the idea of letting someone else in while she worked her therapeutic magic was an entirely foreign one, but not unpleasant. Kiwi Kiss was talented, so she knew how to not make a mess in the kitchen... And it would be really nice to be able to count on someone to help measure things properly as well. The whole process should be easy, working in each other's presences.

"We can trade breakfasts, then! Hah, might force me to be a little more healthy, now that I think about it... Wouldn't hurt to lose a few pounds." When Kiwi asked if she was available, she nodded again. "I've got to make a few deliveries in a couple of hours, but other than that, I'm free for now! We can go back to the kitchen if you'd like? I'm a little eager to see how you work, if I'm honest."

Banana Creme couldn't help but laugh a little as she watched Splash visibly recharge with the sprinkling of water. Who cared what kind of mess was on the table? She could clean it up anyway, especially if it was to make an animal happy. Crumble snorted again when Encore ignored him, not bothered in the slightest, as he wagged his tail under Shockstar's attention.

"What level is he..?" What an odd question. But that was okay. It reminded her of Phokemon, really... And she had been utterly obsessed with that series as a filly. Deciding to go along with it, she hummed, peering down at her companion as she contemplated what level. "Level 30? I don't see Crumble growing past that, since we don't do any practice at all. He usually just sits by my side while I make sweets in the back..." Was that a good enough answer? It seemed as though he had somehow misunderstood Fruit Punch or something--What did that asshat tell this guy?--and suddenly he was apologizing, and Creme worried that she had said something wrong, or had put him off somehow. But before she could apologize, the stallion was latching on to her idea of showing him tricks, enthusiasm seemingly restored.

What a guy.

"Pay me? Oh, no, I mean... You definitely don't have to pay me... I was just going to show you a few things that maybe you didn't already know..." She blinked slowly at Encore, silently communicating that things were calm and she was safe here in the restaurant. "How do you typically, um, train her? Cats are much harder to train and um, teach moves to than dogs are, but the principles are still the same. Food motivation." There had to be some bacon left over from brunch, still to prove her point... "I'm sorry, let me go grab some meat so I can show you." she bounced on her hooves a bit before trotting back to the kitchen, Crumble at her heels for the short trip, even as she returned quickly, with a strip of bacon.

To demonstrate, she held ripped off a small bit of the bacon, looking at Crumble without saying a word as she held up her hoof. He sat. Lowering her hoof, the dog laid down, eyes wide and attentive. Clicking her tongue twice and raising her hoof with some gusto, Crumble was up on his hind legs, balancing as best as he could until BC finally caved and gave him the small treat. "See? Food motivated. Crumble can do a bunch more, but you get my point. Why don't you try it out with... Oh, what's her name? I never asked for either of their names, I'm sorry."

What she wanted it to be was something beyond her expectations. She'd been cursed by crushes all her life-- None reciprocated, of course. She was an easy target, BC didn't know how to not feel things for anyone who gave her attention. It was a really undesirable weakness of hers, she had to admit. What she had wanted out of tonight was for maybe to find someone who would make that ugly cycle end for her.

But this was Banana Creme, and this was not her love story.

Deciding against acknowledging the first question, she nuzzled her face in Encore's side before letting her go, slowly standing back up to her full height and looking around the room for the box of pet treats she had made up for Shockstar's animal crew. When Crumble was brought to her attention, she smiled a bit at the thought of her support dog, shaking her head a bit. "He was at home with my moms while I was pulling a long night, but I hadn't expected to be here not working. Oh, um... I'm really sorry about whatever my Mom must've said to you tonight. She's really not into guys, so... --Oh! Here they are!" The box of beautifully decorated pastel treats was resting underneath where Fruit Punch had thrown her hat earlier (she was incredibly happy to be able to put that back on), and on very slightly unsteady legs, she brought them to Shockstar, setting them on the counter next to the phikachu boy.

"They're safe for Encore to eat, so they're safe for you, too. I hope you like them." Wandering back to the fridge, she debated on grabbing another drink for herself but stopped short of another beer, instead bringing out the vodka, Kahlua, and heavy cream to mix herself another small White Russian. Tonight was going to be sleepless, she could already tell, so she might as well enjoy part of it. "I have a feeling you might like the taste of this one, if you were to try it," she hummed, eyes flicking to Shockstar every once in awhile as she made quick work of pouring the drink. "No pressure, though. You're welcome to have a sip of mine, if you're curious. It helps me relax when I'm worked up."
