Hey y'all, I'm old and don't have a lot of energy to dedicate to Phony RP anymore but I still adore all of these dork horses and miss you guys so I'm ecstatic to have the opportunity to at least host them somewhere besides Gaia where they can be with their phony little friends instead of off in some unaccounted for corner in my computer or whatever.

I'm very much down for discussions about phonies and headcanons and stuff but please understand I can't really do a lot of writing output for them. I'm down for discussing friendships/other relationships though, so if you're interested in that for whatever reason, I'm more than open! You can PM me here for contact information, like my Discord handle, but also bear in mind that I'm very tired (in general but especially after this year, as I'm sure everyone is) and can be slow to respond for a variety of reasons.

Name: Mandrake Blossom
Goes by: Mandrake (she/her)
Nicknames: N/A
Type: Earth

Personality: Forward and outspoken, Mandrake is a girl who knows what she wants but doesn't always know how to get it. Rules suck when they aren't in her favor but she isn't always bold enough to completely disregard them; she may whine and prod at them but, most of the time, she finds more merit in seeing how far they can bend. She is impulsive and brash, puts all of her energy into her goals, but can be very indecisive if things aren't going as she planned. When things go sideways, it's easy for Mandrake Blossom to lose all of her steam but she'll rarely admit this than say she just got bored with it. Despite her assertive nature and sometimes egotistical attitude, she actually carries a fair amount of self doubt that she tries to hide behind spontaneous decisions and, most of all, her volume. When she gets excited, Mandrake has no volume control to speak of and anyone in earshot is subjected to shrill squeaks and screams of joy. The same can be said for if she is unhappy, peppering the air with shouts and wails. Often, Mandrake has difficulty finding words to explain her emotions which just gives way to shrieking and tears. She'll even keep screaming after she needs to pause for breath, until whatever is offending her is alleviated or she is thoroughly distracted. While there is no question she can be abrasive, Mandrake is still a well meaning and loyal phony at heart who wants to do what's best for her friends and loved ones.

Likes: Being outside in nature, playing pretend, the scent of teas and fresh herbs, dirt and mud, putting all of her energy into accomplishing tasks, screaming, gardening, plant identification, conventional and unconventional use of herbs, herbalism
Dislikes: Sleeping, prissy or holier-than-thou attitudes, losing, too many rules, trying to deal with anything magically inclined even if it doesn't require unicorn magic, keeping her voice down

Purpose: She might have you believe her purpose is to scream but you would be mistaken. Mandrake has a natural talent for identifying and using various plants and herbs, a talent which she has honed and sharpened. She has a keen eye and a sharp wit which she uses to study, sort, pick, and utilize all that the various plants of the world have to offer. Her knowledge of mythological plants and their uses in particular is near encyclopedic, especially that of the mandragora from which her name is derived.

Occupation: Mandrake's more of a free spirit than a hard working type, so she works out of her own stable. She studies, collects, and utilizes all sorts of plants for a variety of purposes, all practical. Mostly she enjoys keeping them planted and tending to them but, if you need help identifying something or a quick remedy, she'll be able to whip something up for you in a jiffy!

Stable: A single level thatched roof cottage nestled comfortably on the edge of the grassy plains. It's surrounded by a large garden, more expansive than the house for certain, and is encased in a simple white picket fence. There's a small creek running by the stable which leads back through to the lagoon and into the forest. The surrounding garden is lined with normal flowers and herbs, vines and wild roses curling around a few corners, but the deeper in you go the stranger stuff you find. It's okay -- she knows how dangerous real mandragora are, so you won't be finding any mythical screaming mandrakes on her property. Except her, of course.

Name: Gloom Heart
Goes by: Gloom (he/him)
Nicknames: N/A
Type: Earth

Personality: In contrast with most of the bright and happy atmosphere the Phonyland Amusement Park and all of its inhabitants carry, Gloom Heart feels an all consuming apathy. Where other phonies feel joy, he is indifferent, lethargic, and when they get excited he gets annoyed. He's always at a low point in his life, even when things are going well. It's hard to impress this phony and, most of the time, he'll just pass it off as "okay" and move on to the next worse thing that's happened. Gloom is a phony that needs to complain. Without that he becomes irritable or, worse, melancholy. He's a bit of a nosy parker, too, and will move in on other people's conversations if it will give him a chance to unload something negative. He always speaks in a low, calm, and uncaring voice. In spite of how literally down in the dumps he is, all of the negativity he spouts actually makes him feel better. Rainy, dreary days are 'the worst' (and by that, he obviously means 'the best') because he gets to complain about them while he stands in the downpour and makes no effort to stay dry. Though he is a nihilist by nature, Gloom Heart still pursues his interests and cozies up with the rare like minded individuals (or at least those who can tolerate him). To him, he just thinks the world would be better off with less blind optimism.

Likes: Rain and thunder storms, quiet, dreary poetry, candles, bad and gloomy metaphors, writing awful poetry (well, he thinks it's good...)
Dislikes: Bright colors, loud noises, sunny days without a cloud in the sky, greasy food

Purpose: Making everyone as miserable as him. No, literally, that's it. [REWRITE/EXPAND]

Occupation: Gloom is nestled in the heart of the Phony Land Library. He does not deal with customers directly anymore, due to his unpleasant attitude, but he is an efficient book keeper and number cruncher. On occasion he writes reviews or does poetry reading, but hardly anyone listens because of how bland his delivery is. [REWRITE/EXPAND]

Stable: Unfortunately for Gloom, he's currently shacked up with the majority of the Phonyland population in the stables near Phony City. This means he usually gets an earful of rambunctious joy whenever he's home. Thankfully, there aren't too many who live in the area that are night owls and that allows Gloom to get the sleep he needs, but it also means most of them are early risers and sleeping in is unthinkable (something which attributes to the bags under his eyes). The stable itself is sparsely decorated and fairly small, just enough space to keep his things and sleep for the most part. Because Gloom hates the area so much, he's rarely at home except to sleep anyway and can either be found at work or wandering the forest away from prying sugar rushed eyes. It's not exactly a happening pad, nor would it qualify for a bachelor pad, but its colors and furniture certainly reflect Gloom's disposition. The most unique aspect of his stable is some paper craft that hangs along the ceiling and between the rooms which ranges from black, purple, and red.

Name: Night Flyer
Goes by: Night (she/her)
Nicknames: N/A
Type: Pegasus - Bat Wing (Twice as Fancy)

Personality: Responsible, charitable, serious, these are most definitely words that would not describe Night Flyer in any way. On the contrary, Night Flyer is a confident, playful, and somewhat conceited pegasus (something which is only fueled by her rare genetic mutation). She lives only to have fun, to be entertained, and she will do whatever is necessary to enjoy herself. Simple things can often derive this for her, attending night clubs and partying all hours of the day, even a little rough housing gets her blood pumping and she'll be sure to tell you so. By and large, Night Flyer is nocturnal. Whether this is a personal choice or something commonly shared by the bat winged pegasi is left up for debate. Regardless, she prefers moonlight to the glare of the sun -- she feels more comfortable and much more energized. Though she is strong, fast, and ready to make tough decisions, she is a hedonist who loves nothing more than flying, teasing, flirting, and practically drowning herself in decadence. Flirting is a specialty and Night has a knack for making almost anything she says sound naughty, even to innocent ears. Night is prone to many flings and she cares little for gender, just as she isn't interested in an emotional and long term commitment. No matter what she does, Night Flyer is sure to give it her all but is sure to look her absolute best while doing so. Unfortunately, as one who is a hedonistic thrill seeker, she is prone to boredom and tires of things quickly, especially if they provide no challenge. As such, she enjoys games of intellect just as much as trials of strength or agility, and Night will not hesitate to tell you if you've disappointed her by going easy on her or not being good at what you're doing. As she isn't inclined to work, Night has no booths or work places to her name. However, if you asked very nicely, she may volunteer to help out almost anywhere. Night can be mysterious and intentionally vague at times, but for the most part she means well and is just having a little fun.

Likes: Full moons, clear night skies, excitement, challenges, flirting, creepy critters
Dislikes: Boredom, when things are too calm or quiet, monotony and repetition, stuffy people, high noon

Purpose: All of the passion, mischief, and debauchery of the nighttime hour, she would say. Really, she was just born to fly.

Occupation: She is a free spirit and thus has not embraced employment. Considering their very nature, it isn't something she considers necessary for the phony condition anyway. However, she has been known to freelance as a flight instructor to babby pegasi now and then. Overall, Night Flyer is a jobless hedonist who only lives for the now and doesn't contribute anything to the capitalist machine. She is a blight on society.

Stable: A tower in the mountains that looks old and abandoned, the structure rests on a flatter piece of land away from the snowy mountaintops. It rises up several stories, becoming thinner towards the tip, and its base is planted firmly in a single level castle-like structure. The outside is covered in vines, its front gate rusted shut and hanging off its hinges, but the interior is incredibly pristine and ornate, filled with warm candle light, extravagant carpeting, expensive portraits -- everything a mysterious castle should have. It's even complete with a huge ball room which is used regularly. Night Flyer says this has run in her family for centuries but it's more likely she found it and did some sprucing up. There's even butlers! Just be careful of the emptier rooms and the tower, those rooms are home to bats or are private areas for Night's eyes only. She lives here with her sister.

Name: Dark Water
Goes by: Her full name, if you would. (she/her)
Nicknames: Dark
Type: Earth (wet-look sheen)

Personality: A phony of quiet repose, Dark Water surrounds herself in the dank and dreary because this is where she finds herself most comfortable. The harsh light and excitement of most phonies, their colorful nature and enthusiasm is exhausting and she would much prefer to be steeped in the macabre. Despite this, Dark Water is surprisingly nurturing in her relationships with a natural instinct to care for those lost and wayward, lonely souls like she and her siblings. She tries to hide it behind a mysterious air, something that she comes by naturally but exaggerated and forced as a defense mechanism. Dark Water considers herself the most mature in her batch and fills the role of mother for her brother and sister where they have none. She is dutiful and puts the needs of those most important to her before her own. While she has a lack of appreciation for the sunshine and rainbows side of relationships, Dark Water does not wish for the opposite either; she prefers calming ripples and tides to a torrential whirlpool and so, in the face of adversity, she acts as a peace keeper. However, at her heart, she is still a lonely girl desperate for attention and cannot always bite back her own negativity even as she tries to be a good influence and a calming presence like the mother she never had.

Likes: Gallows humor, sarcasm and dry wit, creative games, old radio show mysteries, darkness, calm and quiet, soaking in the bath
Dislikes: Rambunctiousness, chaos, low brow/potty humor, when people tell her to smile, yelling, creatively dry people and those who never challenge the status quo

Purpose: Makeup is her true calling; this includes the creation of, utilization for both aesthetic or practical use. She uses a water soluble base for all of her cosmetics and all natural ingredients. She can also work with makeshift things on hand (such as charcoal) when shortcuts and quick fixes are required. While this might seem like a limited application for makeovers, she is also very interested in costumes and special effects.

Occupation: TBD She will have a small makeup line that she will sell out of her stable that will eventually become a miniature stall. She will also offer makeovers at the stall and, maybe one day, she can get hired to work in a special effects department but for now she will remain independent and small-time. [NEED TO UPDATE]

Stable: TBD somewhere like little boxcar children with her siblings, probably tucked between the forest and the lagoon once she actually has money rolling in and is old enough, she'll actually buy somewhere nicer (still secluded around the same area) that her siblings can live comfortably in  [NEED TO UPDATE]

Name: Diamond Dust
Goes by: DiDi (she/her)
Nicknames: Dee, DiDi, Dusty
Type: Earth - Twinkle Eye

Personality: Diamond Dust is the sort of phony who reserves judgment. She is kind and amiable to everyone she meets but, if provoked, can give one heck of a cold shoulder. DiDi prides herself on being a good judge of character, as she can usually tell if someone is naughty or nice from a short exchange. She likes to observe interactions with others and make solid assessments of people before making any major decisions about them. She is an organized and hard working filly, if not a little mischievous. DiDi likes to be playful and playing pranks is part of that, though her brand of pranks usually means surprising people with gifts in unexpected places. She is prone to spoiling her friends and loved ones. While she is quite personable, Diamond Dust is a far cry from manic or over excitable and carries herself with a quiet merriment. She is deeply affectionate those she trusts, generous to anyone in need, however diamonds have a sharp edge and those she finds have not earned such kindness may find themselves tormented with harmless inconveniences. She holds promises very dear and expects you to hold up your end just as she does hers; breaking a promise with Diamond Dust comes with many consequences, but if you truly did not mean to hurt her then she is always willing talk things through and share a batch of cookies afterward.

Purpose: Charity is Diamond Dust's one true calling. While the 'diamond' of her name may suggest something ritzy or perhaps relating to jewelry, it's the 'dust' that really matters here as it relates to the leftovers, the 'unwanted', and Diamond Dust is intent to find beloved homes to things that are abandoned, lost, or otherwise without purpose. She is always ready and willing to help others in need.

Occupation: TBD she will run a donation center with a lost & found section called Silver Lining

Name: Dangers Untold
Goes by: Your Highness, Your Majesty, Your Grace, any of these will suffice. (he/him)
Nicknames: Danger
Type: Unicorn - Bowie Clone (Twice as Fancy)

Personality: If his name were not obvious enough, Dangers Untold thinks himself quite the mysterious fellow. There is a curious allure to danger that he believes everyone holds inside of themselves, a pull to excitement, and truly he is no different. He lives to entertain – himself, that is. Boredom is perhaps the one thing he detests most in life, so he treats it like a game that the whole world is playing whether they know it or not. Proud and arrogant, Danger carries himself like an idol entitled to everyone's time and attention. He is armed with a sharp tongue and a dry wit, backhanded compliments, and exaggerated half-truths. While his entire world revolves around himself, there are times when he may seem to go out of his way to the benefit of others. He might impart gifts that seem uncharacteristically generous and leave one wary of some underlying catch. Do not be fooled, as this is no mere charity work and Danger fully expects favors in return, but there is an honesty in his actions; he will help you, with whatever you ask, but it may be far more literal or go far beyond what you intended. He does not take kindly to those who are ungrateful and will take his revenge in mischievous ways. Danger delights in perplexing and shocking others with mischievous antics but there is a delicate balance he strives to keep; while danger is enticing, it is the threat of danger that excites him and not the potential for damage. In truth, he does not wish anyone harm. For all of his pomp and circumstance, Dangers Untold thrives most on validation from outside sources. Without the people he treats like mere pawns to bolster his already over inflated ego, he would quickly buckle under the pressure of loneliness. A conniving, rule bending, and spoiled "king" who derives great pleasure in asserting his moral and intellectual superiority, it certainly takes something special to impress upon this unicorn – but, if you manage, he will bend over backwards trying to keep your favor. Just fear him, love him, do as he says, and he will be your slave.

Likes: Compliments, music, dancing, singing, fanciful dress, mind games
Dislikes: Losing, ungrateful people, being contradicted, groveling, weak wills

Purpose: To bring excitement through threat & trickery while looking utterly fabulous. And also to be a Bowie Tribute.

Occupation: His understanding of his "role" is an extremely inaccurate and self-centered one. Essentially, "do as I say not as I do" mixed in with "cater to my every whim" -- anything that goes against that is annoying and inconvenient. Dangers Untold believes outright that he is royalty and should thus never have to lift a finger when it comes to physical labor; he's never worked a day in his life. He may, however, be convinced to rent out his ballroom to the highest bidder... or... whenever he's really bored... and a little lonely... Something, of course, he would never admit to.

Stable: Nestled near the mountains, a tall manor designed to resemble a castle (but being much too small to truly embody such grandeur) sits at the center of a winding stone maze. The maze itself is deceptively uncomplicated, with illusions and holograms in place to mislead and beguile anyone trespassing so that they will continuously find themselves exiting the labyrinth and drawing no closer to the castle unless they are able to outwit such trappings. Inside of the castle is filled with strange non-euclidean geometry the likes of MC Escher and Salvador Dali favored in their work. Multitudes of servants wander the halls, some defying gravity by simply floating through the air while others walk upon the walls and ceiling as though they are the floor. At the heart of the manor is the ballroom, the largest space of all, which seems to always be brimming with elegant dancers, lively music, and mysterious masquerades. But something doesn't seem quite right...

Magic: As a unicorn, Dangers Untold is able to tap into magical powers. However, as a phony, this magic is powered by nano-technology and is more like flashy science. In particular, Dangers likes to conjure crystal orbs that he can use for remote viewing (much like tapping into security camera feeds), which he does frequently to check on events around Phonyland as well as observe anyone he might have taken an interest in. He also dabbles in illusions in this manner, manipulating holographic images to alter perception or creating synthetic audio. This is what he uses to make his castle appear full when in fact it is as empty as his friend's list. Without his constant magical manipulation, his castle is actually quite a lonely sight with him as its sole occupant and an ominous quiet drifting through its halls.

There are two other Bowie Tribute Clones, namely Earthling and Mad Aristocrat, who serve the similar purpose. They could, in effect, be considered brothers, triplets as it were, and their shorthand is "Browie" - for Bowie Brothers.

Dangers Untold has a vague understanding that they're cut from the same cloth but prefers to ignore this fact publicly. After all, he is the superior one, the most beautiful and most important. He does not like to think of them as autonomous individuals and imagines their existence to be for his benefit. They also serve as good distractions, decoys as it were. Curious illusions moving between crystal. [/spoiler]
